workout 4. New years eve

Sore as crap this morning. My chest and legs were killing me. We did over 200 squat jumps yesterday. which pretty much made waking up miserable.

weighed in at 173

today we again cut down on the boxing. only went 10 minutes. but at a high intensity.

then we did heavy weight abs. Holding weights about my head and doing crunches. and holding weights with my feet and lifting with my core. that took about 20 minutes.

then we spent half an hour on triceps and biceps. So a lot of curls. both with free weights. and then with cables. The cables are the worst. Mostly because you have to do them so slow.

I felt like I did 1000 tricep lifts.

Im a little tired. 4 days in a row at a high intensity is a little wearing. hopefully we'll scale it back a little tomorrow

workout #3. New years eve, eve

Mostly I wanted to post this image so you knew I was bad-ass street fighter.

I could never box again and be happy with it. Luckily today we didnt do half an hour. It was 15 minutes. but It was far more intense. And I took a couple shots to the head today. Ahmad wanted to throw punches back at me with the pads. And the more tired I got, the less i wanted to dodge. and the more shots i took the head.

We did a lot of chest and back today. and then some abs. it was more of a heavy lifting, less cardio day.

I also find it easier NOT to be tired with such a long road ahead. Whenever I start to feel fatigued, I just remember that I have over 40 days in a row remaining to workout. It adds perspective. and "mans me up" a little.

I weighed myself today for the first time in a while. Im 173lbs. Im 6feet tall. Itll be interesting to see if I gain weight or lose weight by this experiment. Usually gaining is harder for me. But with these workouts, hopefully I can put on a few lbs of muscle.

I also find it a lot easier to eat better when I work out. Pretty much because I dont crave the crap as much.

feeling good. about to grill a steak, with corn on the cob, broccoli and maybe a little shrimp

workout #2

This is Ahmad. He is one of my best friends. and he has been my trainer for the last 4 years. And it didnt come together in that order. He has an iron fist (so he says) when it comes to making me work (hence the dumb pose)

I feel like he is taking this challenge even more seriously than I am. itll be his job to push and not push me at the appropriate times. He already doesnt think this challenge (45 days with NO days off) is very smart, but now its his job to get me through it.

I dont feel like everyone needs a trainer. But, I, for sure do. I simply need the minute to minute motivation. Not because Im lazy. But because I get bored.

I did wake up sore this morning. Which is weird, because I never fully stopped working out.

Went to the gym at 3p. Finished at 4:30

did 30's

30 minutes of boxing
30 minutes of abs
30 minutes of lifting

it was pretty hardcore again today.

only 43 more to go

1st workout. 44 to go

Had a talk (before we worked out) with Ahmad (friend/trainer) about goal. He told me that I would be physically exhausted by the end. I still accept the challenge (that... I gave myself)

Boxed for 30 minutes
abs for 15 minutes
lifted for 30 minutes

Im seeing a few of you guys posting your blogs in the comments. keep them coming. Ill make a page with them all. Dont feel like you have to go 45 days though if you arent already in decent shape. Do 20, 30, whatever you feel comfortable with.

til tomorrow

12-28-09

Im in pretty good shape. I work out now between 2-4 times a week. Sometimes 2. occasionally 3. rarely 4 (but it does happen)

I created this challenge for motivation. and I know how my brain works. If I set a goal, I will work harder to achieve that goal, than if i just say "Im going to work out more in x time period".

Also, this isnt so much a new years resolution. mostly because I dont plan to maintain this rigorous workout schedule for the year.

45 days. 45 workouts. no days off (unless I get sick). I have a trainer and a gym that Ill use some. Other times I will simply walk out my front door and run. or maybe a swim at the big gym I still retardedly pay monthly dues at (but never go)

So, Ill track my progress here. If for some reason I miss a day. Ill add 2.

My goal is Feb 11. No days off.

if you decide you want to do the same kind of challenge. create a blog page. send me the link. Ill post it and we can all motivate each other.

Off to the gym.
